Direct to Consumer Book Packaging
There is a new book out about disruptive business models called Business Model Generation (tagged as #BMG on twitter). True to its topic it was conceived, created, and distributed in a way that is proving disruptive to legacy book publishers — independently. Pshaw you say. Books are produced independently all the time. Not ones with 470 contributors from 45 countries. This thing was a massive undertaking and likely would have sunk any traditional publisher that took it on. As it were, the creation of the book couldn’t have happened any other way. It does appear, however, that they could use a wee help in the distribution department. They are charging $$$ for shipping.
If you do buy it, look for contributions from Canada’s Matthew Milan and the design by The Movement’s Alan Smith.
