Justice League New Frontier and Unlimited

Original Justice League SuperHeros

I just caught up with the Justice League franchise. The New Frontier feels like the director set out to animate the entire comic book series, got tired, then settled for a feature length movie instead. Plot points are introduced, then dropped. The character development is uneven with Hal Jordan’s Green-Lantern-origin-story dominating. Is he a jerk or is he a pacificist peace-nik? Did he crash land on the Center after the Korean war? Why was that in the story at all? And why is the Centre controlling people like a cult leader? Weak lumpy sauce.

On the other hand Justice League Unlimited (S1) held together and was enjoyable. TV made for kids. They somehow acquire a space satellite. Clearly I am missing huge swaths of the mythology. The stand alone episodes build nicely towards a good season-ending pay off. Confused about why they were hating on Hawk Girl but that was forgivable. Overall. My inner ten year old approves.
