Louis Riel is The Canadian “Che” Guevara – Andrew Hutchinson
I walked by the Launch Projects gallery last night and was dismayed to see that Andrew Hutchinson’s show had been taken down. I tracked him down on line and it turns out my favourite piece of his is up for charity auction tonight. Sadly I won’t be bidding, but best wishes to the cause and the artist. Hopefully he will eventually add a Canadian author to his series of Canadian characters. Fingers crossed.
And funnily enough as I surfed around the Art With Heart site, I saw another of my favourite works up for auction at the event. Sabrina Russo’s work has been on display around the corner from Launch at the Royal Bank on the corner of King and Spadina for months. I guess I am not buying that one either.
