More Hints Re: Indigo/Chapters Content Chunking Initiative
Chapters/Indigo is hiring (or has hired) a merchandiser in their online division. The job is a 6 month contract — but the curious thing about it is the applicant will “provide editorial support and manage content for a service providing written content via web and mobile device”.
The only mobile-device service they have is Indigo Book’s forthcoming digital content initiative for which they were looking for an iPhone developer in late November (again only a short contract).
At least they will be tailoring the service to the mobile interface. It would have been suicide if they didn’t. It will be suicide if they don’t do the same for phones and blackberrys.
The merchandiser position points to some kind of community element although it is unknown whether that is a standalone community or if it will intersect with Indigo’s existing community platform.
