Observations From My (Defunct) Feed Reader
I shut down my Google Reader account. It wasn’t proving useful tracking and reading the longtail of blog content so I have moved on to other solutions. Here are my observations from going through my feedlist one last time.
- Carolyn Kellogg’s Jacketcopy should have ads in their feed.
- Maud Newton’s novel — whatever it is about, whenever it comes out, whatever it costs — is on my buy list
- Keith Gessen’s online output has discouraged me from reading Literary Men. Although I have already bought it so you never know.
- OpenBook Toronto needs to open up its feed
- The Mobylives blog (MelvilleHouse) is the best house blog hands down. It is consistently great (even when I disagree with them).
I haven’t given up on RSS, just on GReader. We’ll see how long this lasts.
