Seen Unscene Tweeting
I have been off-line more and more lately and the one thing I really miss is the low-commitment, high-value engagement on Twitter. I now basically dip in, see what is going on, and then move on. I consider the conversation to be infinite so I rarely page back more than once or twice. With less time, one thing that really bugs me is the faceless, nameless tweets from some brands I have a high affinity for. Anansi, The Walrus, and Coach House are examples. Would it kill you guys to identify yourselves? It is one line in the bio for c-sakes. My thinking is a little personality equals a whole lot of good karma. That is way cheaper than the cheapest cheap campaign. Instead I feel like I am following Texaco. To put it another way — my next read is likely going to consume more than 24 hours of my life, why would I trust that decision to a 16 pixel by 16 pixel brand logo?
I suppose it is a different matter if you tweet for a company and don’t want to identify yourself for your own reasons, but still.
