Social Business Design Is Your New Bicycle
I am a little slow. I am fine with that. I can catch up quickly.
When I first learned about email marketing I was like “Really? Who would sign up for that?” I didn’t get it.
When I first learned about search engine optimization I was like “Cool.” But my company didn’t control its own site.
Today when I listened to Jeff Dachis talk about social business design synapses exploded. It clicked.
You know when they say kids will likely have jobs that haven’t been invented yet? On one level Dachis talked about those kinds of jobs. On another he simply made the case forĀ giving someone with social media experience a seat at the board table. Remember when HR suddenly became a strategic imperative for business? The loopy HR manager became a VP? Dachis talked about raising ‘social’ strategies to that kind of level. It makes crazy sense.
I won’t cheapen Jeff’s presentation by trying to rephrase it. Instead I will point you to a post at metrand and a Slideshare presentation by David Armano (Jeff’s associate) is embedded.
Doesn’t sound like much? Rest assured social business design is going to be huge. Question is how long will that take? And will hiveminders/metafilter geeks at Lifehacker be pissed?
