To which I say &#8220;New business model meet old business model. Please be friends.&#8221;</p>
<p>That is to say the story passed by me on Twitter in a flash.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.cnet.com/profile/mollywood/"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-2026" title="Picture 74" src="http://indexmb.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/Picture-74.png" alt="Picture 74" width="114" height="117" /></a>Then I tuned into <a href="http://www.cnet.com/8301-11455_1-10283211-10.html" target="_blank">The Buzz OutLoud podcast</a> from cNet.com. The commentary on the story by <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molly_Wood" target="_blank">Molly Wood</a>, <a href="http://www.cnet.com/profile/acedtect/?tag=rtcol" target="_blank">Tom Merrit</a>t and crew made my drink come out my nose. It is awesome. Wood &#8212; who back in the day worked at O&#8217;Reilly &#8212; goes on a rant that everybody in the business needs to hear.</p>
<p>To get warmed up she says &#8221; What are publishers not worried about? These people are the biggest hair pullers in the entire world. They are just hand wringing ninnies, non-stop about everything.&#8221; And it just gets better after that.</p>
<p>To listen click through to <a href="http://www.cnet.com/8301-11455_1-10283211-10.html" target="_blank">bol.cnet.com</a> or here for <a href="http://chkpt.zdnet.com/chkpt/1pcast.bole/http://podcast-files.cnet.com/podcast/cnet_buzzoutloud_070909.mp3" target="_blank">the direct download</a>. The conversation starts at 12:20 and wraps up at 17:50.</p>
<p>For the record I own an imaginary t-shirt with an &#8216;I Heart <a href="http://themolly.com/blog/?p=139" target="_blank">TheMolly</a>&#8216; iron-on decal.</p>
